I am looking for a specific case. I know the name of the opinion and the date the opinion was issued.
Go to the Monthly Digest Table of Contents page and select the month and year the opinion was issued. Remember that we only have court opinions (and summaries) from the U.S. Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals. Those opinions (and summaries) date back to September 1996.
I am looking for a specific case. I know the name of the case, but I don't know when the opinion was issued.
Go to our Search page and type the case name (or part of the case name) in the top drop-down box that says: "Search our cases and case summaries."
I am not looking for a specific case. I want to find cases on a particular subject.
The best place to start is the Treatise Index.
However, if you cannot find what you are looking for there, then go to the Search page and enter your search terms in the lower drop-down box that says: "Search our Treatise."
In that drop-down box, choose to search the entire Treatise or a particular chapter.
If you are still not successful, go to the upper drop-down box and search all cases summaries (first) and, alternatively, search all cases.
For more information on using the Treatise, go to our Treatise Tips page.
